Oh, let me tell you I fell for Liam in this book because Ashley had chapters from the past with him in it and I adored his character. Ashley Jade made me hate him, but then made me fall in love with him after finding out what happened to him and why his brother Liam is no longer alive. Jace is the biggest jerk I’ve ever read in a book, but I loved getting his POV.

He wants revenge for what she did years ago. He wants her to leave Royal House Academy, and he will do anything to hurt her, even start rumors of her around school about her and her step-cousin. Here is a book where the main characters knew each other before, but the male protagonist, Jace, is determined to make the female protagonist, Dylan’s, life difficult. I know some readers are skeptical of this genre, but I’m addicted to it right now.

It’s no secret that High School Bully Romances are my new favorite genre right now. I was literally in tears at the end of the book and may have been cursing Ashley Jade for making me ugly cry, but then I praised her for writing such a fantastic book. There was this intensity between these main characters that made me sit up and pay attention as they struggled with their barrage of conflicting emotions. This was the boy I loved to hate, but I also knew that there were many layers to him-that he was more than just the bully tormenting the girl he once loved. With how cruel Jace tended to be towards Dylan, I seriously begged that he have some redeeming factor before long or else. These two share a great deal of history with each other, and while there was so much good, the lingering and lasting memory is the last one-that of Dylan abandoning Jace, or at least, that's how he saw it. That boy from four years ago may have been the person who knew her best, the one with whom she shared her first kiss, and the friend who became her first love but the young man before her now makes it clear that the last thing he wants is to breathe the same air as Dylan.Īh, the thin line between love and hate is barely a sliver when it comes to Jace and Dylan. When she see Jace again, he's nothing like the boy she remembers. Living with her aunt and uncle, she's back to finish her senior year in Royal Manor High.
